Bauddhayan Mukherji
Cannes Lion winner. National Award winner. Listed by Impact Magazine as one of the ten pathbreakers in Indian advertising filmmaking.
Bauddhayan founded Little Lamb Films in Mumbai with wife Monalisa in 2007 and has ever since directed and produced over 750 commercials and PSAs. These have won at LIA, One Show, Spikes, Effies, Ad Stars, Kyoorius, Goafest etc.
In 2010, Bauddhayan directed the Bell Bajao (Ring the Bell) campaign against domestic violence which won the Silver Lion at Cannes. In 2015, his film for the Filaria Free India campaign for Sabin Vaccine Institute won another Silver Lion at Cannes Health. The Shower, the much-acclaimed film for Unilever, fetched Bauddhayan his first National Award at the 67th National Film Awards 2021.
Over the last decade Bauddhayan has directed two of India’s most awarded and acclaimed indies – Teenkahon (2014) & The Violin Player (2016). He turned producer eventually with the documentary short Kiske Liye and Little Lamb Films’ third fiction feature, Manikbabur Megh (Tallinn, Santa Barbara, Edinburgh).
In 2022, Little Lamb Films got into a co-production agreement with Niv Art Movies to produce a slate of independent films. Lubdhak Chatterjee’s Whispers of Fire & Water (Locarno, Sao Paulo, IFFK) is their first co-production.
Bauddhayan is also a part of India’s first multilingual anthological film being produced by Sohum Shah Films where he has written and directed the short – 251 (IDSFFK, El Gouna). His next directorial ventures include The Bookkeeper’s Wife (Torino Film Lab 2021) and Marichjhapi (Cinefondation L’Atelier, Cannes 2020).
