Alex Lockwood
BAFTA award-winning filmmaker
Alex Lockwood is a documentary film director from Birmingham whose films have a strong emphasis on ethics. Alex has directed and produced a number of short film including 73 Cows, which was a no-budget film that went on to win the BAFTA for British Short Film, as well as other award winning shorts such as Monbiot and Test Subjects. Alex is currently working on a theatrical rewilding series alongside narrators Joaquin Pheonix and Rooney Mara and also a feature length documentary about an animal sanctuary in the Pyrenees.
Alex has also been an Exec Producer on a number of shorts and has served as a mentor to students and up and coming film makers looking to take their first steps into the film industry. Alex also sits on the advisory council for the Centre for Contemporary Sciences as a result of his film work around animal testing.
