Phil Dunn is a director, screenwriter, poet and owner of production company, Authentive, which is based in Brixton, South London.

Phil came to filmmaking via a circuitous route; having studied Medicine, then Theology, he had no formal training. But, through Authentive, set up in 2005, he learned every aspect of film-craft, making hundreds of films for clients in the corporate, charity, fashion and music sectors. In 2018, Phil began to apply those skills to his own stories, and immediately found his work gaining acclaim from critics and festivals alike.

His most recent short film, THE STUPID BOY, won 55 awards (including Best British Short and Best Director at BSIFF 2023) and 75 selections around the world, reaping five star reviews and qualifying for consideration for the Oscars and BAFTAs 2024.
