BAFTA award-winning Screenwriter and Director
Amma Asante MBE is a British, BAFTA award-winning screenwriter and director. Her films include BELLE (2014), and WHERE HANDS TOUCH (2018). With her debut feature film, A WAY OF LIFE (2004), Asante became the first Black woman to win a BAFTA film award for directing a feature film, and in 2016 she became the first black director to open The London film Festival in its 60 year history with her feature film A UNITED KINGDOM.
