Category: Press release | Date: September 30, 2022 | By: Big Syn Institute, London. UK.

Big Syn Institute has announced the Grand Jury of the 2022 Big Syn International Film Festival.

Like every year, the Institute is indebted to luminaries from the world of films, media, sustainability and policy for gracing the Grand Jury of the biggest film festival of its kind.

With over 400 entries/year form over 120 countries, the festival employs relatable shorts, features, documentaries, animations and Public Service Announcements to inform the civil society about the 17 interlinked Global Goals or the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and their significance for a safe, peaceful and thriving future for all. The films often offer solutions to evolve to the changing climate and environment or introduce innovative means to combat climate change or showcase means to fight major global challenges such as poverty, poor sanitation, hunger, poor education, inequality, discrimination or the need for more responsible production and consumption of goods, to name a few.

Since 2019, over 5 millions people around the world have been made aware of the Global Goals and have been inspired to act on those via the film festival.

The highlight of this edition of the festival is highlighting UK’s marginalised filmmakers; marginalised because of race, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, physical ability, language, and/or immigration status including but not limited to ethnic minorities, women and girls, people with physical and mental disabilities, and Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Queer and Intersex (LGBTQI) filmmakers.

The honorable Grand Jury Members of 2022 BSIFF are;

The festival is open for entries until 15th October 2022. Entries can be submitted via the festival’s Filmfreeway page.

The organiser of the festival, Big Syn Institute, is a part of the Centre for Big Synergy (CBS), a CSO of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs. CBS is a not-for-profit, global facilitator committed to creating a more responsible future for all.
