Words Take You Places | Michaela Lowe
Filmmaker’s statement
Legend Has It is set in a perfect Celtic society that has been built on tradition, honor and honesty. This story centres around the life of our protagonist, Bronwyn, who is preparing for a coming of age ceremony like no other.
Our motivation was to explore the themes of rituals and ceremonies, and how they become ingrained in the mindset of a society’s culture. We wanted to focus on women and female relationships, to reflect the shifting climate surrounding family and traditional ideas in Ireland today.
We are ever so very grateful to our Patrons and Friends for supporting the festival.
